Update and Personal Note 2018-1

(First update since 2015)
Bless the Lord, we’re still going! I cannot tell how many times I think we’re down for the count, but the Spirit keeps energizing and quickening so much that I have no choice but to keep on keeping on. Everything always works out according to His Love which is the foundation of the entire universe, so no need to fret. Still – we are human and still susceptible to the pulls and hypnotic spell of the “good” in the world. I would say, “Lord, how about letting up some on this travail for the world, I need a little R & R,” but I cannot. Long ago I said, “Nevertheless not my will but thine,” and I can’t take that back. We MUST keep on pressing toward the mark which is in Christ Jesus – no turning back, no turning back.
Most are aware how our situation has been in the Fall and Winter, regarding Janis’ health issues. Since late August 2017 our main attention has been on her recovery and good health, which included 4 hospitalizations along with visits at home from the home healthcare nurse. Just 3 days ago her home health care terminated because she has come to the point that we don’t need them to come anymore. She still has a wound to dress everyday, but it’s maybe 5% its original size and getting smaller day by day, which is something I can handle. So it looks like we’re over that, and can move on to other things.
My apologies to folks I may not have written back or still owe a correspondence. If you wrote me a while back and I haven’t answered, remind me. I desire to answer every person who writes me, but some slip through so please, again, remind me.
I want to remind everyone about my last book. The title is Living Bread. It is a reworking of the “Living Bread Series” I posted on the Voice in the Wilderness blog between March and July 2014. The link to order: http://www.lulu.com/shop/fred-pruitt/living-bread/paperback/product-22277288.html.
It is available right now on the Lulu.com site for a really great price. It is 144 pages, and I was so pleased that they could price it that low.
The previous book I did on Lulu, Free Will, though only 33 pages, actually cost more in the beginning than this new book does. Now, however, Free Will is available for about the same price as Living Bread. Link for Free Will: http://www.lulu.com/shop/fred-pruitt/free-will/paperback/product-18753195.html.
There is now and has been for a long time a free PDF file for Living Bread on Voice in the Wilderness. I have heard of smartphone apps that can take a PDF file and convert them into ebooks for Kindle, Nook, etc., and you should be able to find those through your smartphone app service.

Regarding resuming our travels, working on it. Obviously it worked out well that I didn’t travel last Fall, considering what Janis had to face. While no trip is currently scheduled, we’re not finished with our travels.
Of course, not traveling does not mean no outreach. In fact, there is more. When I’m traveling it is hard to write so I don’t usually get much done. I’m glad for this time so we can get more and more “riches of Christ” out to people through our studies, talks and corrrespondences.
Things ARE happening. In my earliest days in Christ we attended a pentecostal denominational church. They were always putting out reports of their various activities. They always included the number of those who were “saved” and the number who experienced the “baptism of the Holy Spirit.” I don’t have that sort of situation. It’s a little harder to pin down “results.”
However, from my perspective, we are seeing growth and “results.” Here are the summaries for the past two years.
2017: I posted 76 articles. Some of them were revisions of previous articles but the bulk were published for the first time. We had 30,877 “views” of my posts in 2017, shared among 7,160 visitors.
2016: 73 articles posted, viewed 30,848 times, divided among 6,177 visitors.
I admit, a skateboarding squirrel normally goes viral on Facebook with 4,000,000 views, and I might get 120 views of the “deep things of God” in a day. If I could find a skateboarding squirrel who also shared the Good News, I’d put him to work. As it is now, the Lord has not supplied me with one so I have to rely on the equipment and message He’s given me, the main being, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63). I have seen people transformed by “words,” because if they’re from God, they DO what they are supposed to do.
Now, I don’t mind watching a skateboarding squirrel for a few seconds every now and then, because it’s funny. It makes me laugh. But I would much rather communicate the Spirit Word that gives Eternal Life. There is no comparison.
We just want to declare to God’s people that Christ is in them and because Christ is in them, He is their ever-present hope of glory. We further declare that also because He is in them, that we, along with Paul and everyone else who has contributed since Paul, “may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.” (Col 1:28). And we take it also to be a fact, which applies to anyone else who will see it as fact (i.e., the WORD of the Lord), that “we also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me [us] mightily.” (Col 1:29).
I want to mention the subject of finance, which I address rarely. Every once in a while, I think it good to send a general reminder that we live primarily on what the Lord sends through His people. Thanks again to those of you who send for our support and to help us get out this most important Word to the world and Body of Christ. Anyone interested in that may check here: https://thesingleeye.wordpress.com/support/.
Of course, we also extend an open invitation to everyone to come along with us in our lifelong endeavor: (now in its 46th year!)
That [we] may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means [we] might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though [we] had already attained, either were already perfect: but [we] follow after, if that [we] may apprehend that for which also [we are] apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, [we] count not [ourselves] to have apprehended: but this one thing [we] do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, [we] press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:10-14)
God’s blessings on all!
