Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. (Ps 143:8)
Dare we believe the Lord answers this prayer? To “cause me?”
How could we be people of faith and believe that He does not?
We ARE led; we DO hear; we DO trust — this is where we stand! Not because we somehow have done it ourselves — by our efforts, by our knowledge, by our dedication, by our righteousness or holiness — but because He has done it!
The stone which the builders rejected is become the head stone of the corner;
This is the Lord’s doing, and it is MARVELOUS in our eyes!
This is the day the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it! (Ps 118:22-24)
Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth! (Rom 8:33)
It is God who delivers, by His own instigation, by virtue of His own love. He is the eternal will to Love — how could He not deliver?
The Lord’s Christ (Who is in all of us who are His) is the stone which is cut out without hands, that breaks in pieces all the false kingdoms of the earth, and then fills the whole earth with the great mountain the stone becomes. (Daniel 2:34,35, etc.)
That earth and those kingdoms are you and me, and that stone breaks in pieces every vestige and little bit of each of the false kingdom in us, and becomes in us a mountain that fills the whole earth — the earth which is you and me — with the glory of God, so that only the stone cut out without hands remains in us as the holy mountain of God.
This is the promise of GOD, not the fruit of the labor of man. It will happen no matter what is happening in the world. No matter what wars are going on, what natural disasters, no matter what politicians or electorates do, what dictators do, what popes do, what terrorists do, what wives or husbands do, what children or parents do — God will bring about His will as He has said from the foundation of the earth — to fill the whole earth with the glory of God.
It is possible to see it right now. As TRUE NOW as TRUE later, for TRUE IS TRUE, now or later!
Let us then rejoice and rest in today and all todays, whatever today is or has brought, because it is of the Lord. Whatever is before us, we do not see only the surface of it, which perhaps in the moment appears disturbed, contrary, inimical or even hopeless — because all those appearances only mask the Real and True behind them. The disturbing appearances provide the road or riverbed upon which the Glory rides!
We see through to the glory which is the truth and is the real, and in that we rejoice and we are glad. Maybe through tears or maybe through laughter, but regardless of any temporal emotional state, the joy of the Lord is eternally our strength.
The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.
Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,
Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.
He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD. (Psa 143:8-9)
