Update and Personal Note – 2011-1

by Fred Pruitt

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and let all that is within me bless His Holy Name!”

Well, we made it through that always hectic and stressful holiday season. During those dark weeks in December it seems the focus is what lies behind, and because of the immediacy of the demands on us, I find it hard to think about “next year.”

Which is why we have January!

Ok — brief review of last year (2010) –

I went on four multi-day car tours in 2010. I went alone to east and central Florida in late February.  The trip was a great success, as everywhere we went many were open and expectant to hear the Word of their true freedom. It was also a great learning trip for me, going by myself, and the Lord taught me much, especially about me trusting for the daily provision He has promised when we “seek first the kingdom of righteousness.”

I started the trip in mortal fear that I was making a mistake (since I had to rely on miraculous provision to even go, and especially to come back home again). But once again that royal law shared by Norman Grubb, “need is the evidence of supply,” the Lord proved over and over. By experience the Lord showed me it is not a hope, not a wish, but a certainty! So that was a tremendous unfolding for me.

But, there was even further “seeing” of how all we do is speak the Word and take the next step. Once inwardly convicted by the Spirit that “this is the way,” the next step is to just move out, simply by this inner Word the Lord revealed or spoke in us. Take the step, and the universe will, in a sense, conform itself to our commitment. Or put another way, Spirit assumes a body — the body (circumstances, events, people, provisions, understanding and insight) forms as we go. We just do the next thing, and since it is true when He says, “I go before you,” we continuously find the Spirit has prepared those to whom we are coming. We are always amazed. But I learned that as we take step after step after step, the next ones keep presenting themselves, along with whatever provisions, circumstances, people, etc.) that are necessary. Because we are not dealing with some sort of capricious arbitrary “entity”, but rather the God of Eternal Outgoing Love, after a while it simply becomes a “given” that He does provide for us every single thing we need, every day.

After all, we’re not just poor wretched humans anymore, are we? No! Because now by virtue of “Christ in us.” we are not waiting in our Father’s welfare line, hoping for a handout. Instead we join in the revelation of the Son, Which says, “All that the Father hath is mine!” And in our oneness within (1 Cor 6:17), WE SAY, ”All that the Father hath is mine.” And God has ALL THINGS! And when we know it, too, we also possess “all things.” Believing that, just like Abraham, though we may wander here and there and have here “no continuing city,” still we walk around as a blesser, and not as one wandering around seeking others to bless us! Because we are walking with everything we need coming out of a heavenly storehouse where there are never any shortages or backorders. It is all ours, and as sons we have the RIGHT to use and distribute out of this storehouse as we please (because now what pleases us is what pleases the Father, and visa versa).

Then in May we took our annual trip to see various of our friends in Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas City, lasting nearly three weeks. In June we flew to California to start out at the Men’s Fellowship retreat held every June in the LA area by Ed Lassiter and Skip Smith. After that meeting we went all over the state, first to the south to San Diego, and then headed north all the way as far as Redding, returning by Sacramento, where my old friend (who led me to Christ) Moseley Collins, interviewed me on his radio who. If you haven’t listened to that, I think you would be wonderfully edified.

After Sacramento next came San Francisco and then the long all-day drive to Los Angeles, with one last meeting in the LA basin in a town called, “Rancho Cucamonga,” thus ending that trip.

We stayed home during most of the summer months, not knowing what our surprise would be at the end. The surprise was our nephew Tony calling us and inviting us to share his house with him in Rome, GA, our hometown. After some consideration, we made the move in mid-September, just barely before the Louisville Conference.

Of course the conference is always a smash hit, or maybe better said a “great move of God,” and it was no different for this one. The Spirit did a little “number” on me one of the days, again opening me to new venture and insights by what started out as confusion in my mind. I related the lessons the Spirit taught me on Sunday morning of the conference, and while parts of this are somewhat “personal,” I think it is very edifying for others to see what the Spirit stirs in us in order to bring forth good fruit. The link to that talk, called “The Limp of Jacob, is immediately below.

After the meeting John Bunting and I did our annual trip through mostly the northeast states, visiting first Tennessee, then Virginia, the DC area (staying in Columbia MD), from there on up to the Corcorans in Simsbury Connecticut. Came how through Pennsylvania and the Lord provided meetings for us in Lancaster and McConnelsburg. They were all wonderful.

Our last stop was at the Reeds in Fredericktown, OH, and several came over for a lively time as we sat around the living room discussing these things.

Of all the things that I was privileged to do last year, by far the favorite has been the new blog: The Single Eye Blog

I put up my first post on July 21, 2010. From there “readership” has grown by leaps and bounds. As of today, the blog has received 11,681 “views.” Unbelievable! Also, I have posted 168 articles, with more than 50% having been previously written, but newly edited and revised. The rest of them are brand new, published only here on this blog. I have gotten hundreds of “comments” from readers, many causing interesting educational discussions, and some have led to new relationships. I am “getting” what I saw and desired so that I can SAY with absolute confidence, that many have seen inner prisons’ locks broken, their “spiritual sight” renewed and expanded, and captives set free. Nothing pleases me more. I add to it almost every day, some of which I do not announce. Currently I am incorporating the videos and audios into the blog.

We will be doing some more traveling a little later, but for now these writings are taking everything. A few years ago I claimed to the Lord that it would be nice if I had something “substantial” to give folks. I do not have a “gift of healing” (not called to it), nor am I any sort of great result-getting prayer warrior. The Lord has not worked in me that way, and I am satisfied with His workings. But, as I explained to the Lord, all I have is “words.”

The Spirit spoke back in a split-second saying, “The words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit and they are Life.”

Well, life and Spirit, that’s pretty good thing to be giving out, so that settled it for me. The words I speak (write), they are Spirit, and they are Life. Wow! (Same for you!)

My at home projects that I am working on or anticipating at the moment are these:

1) Finish editing and publishing 3 books that are almost ready to go, one at a time of course.

2) For a long time I’ve wanted to do this, but could not imagine what form it would take. I think I’ve got the right idea now, so as soon as the technical end is working out, I’ll be sending an announcement of a weekly live streaming video, available either to watch live or recorded, doing a companion exposition of my own book, The Axe Laid to the Root. (When you open the link, scroll down the page to find Axe. When I first published the book in 2007, it was for a time a real “hit,” and it went all over the place. But more than one person said a companion “study manual” would be great, since this brief book is packed with a lot of stuff that for many requires further explanation. At the moment no written “Study Manual” seems on the horizon, but I think this video series will do the job nicely. Look forward to the announcement.

So there it is. We are still at it. As Paul Simon wrote, “still crazy after all these years,” and I qualify more and more as the days go by. I’m crazy, but it’s a good crazy, because it is “beside myself” to the Lord. No better way to be!

As always, a special thanks to those who help us financially. These provisions sent by God’s people enable me ot keep doing this. Thank you thank you thank you! Anyone who wishes to join with this “help” may do so by clicking the link on right side of the blog’s main window, or by going directly to my old but still functioning website: Helping out

Out in the great wide open the sky is the limit. Bless all, and thanks all.

All my love,

fred
